The power of SAP BTP at ASUG Tech Connect

Our BTP Squad was privileged to attend ASUG Tech Connect in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida. The event was more than just a conference – it was an opportunity to connect with customers and SAP. This year’s spotlight topics were particularly exciting: We had a lot of conversations around SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Clean Core, AI Agents, and Cloud Transformation. Each theme underscored the rapid pace of change in enterprise technology and the strategies businesses are adopting to stay competitive. Akin Aritmac, Chief Sales Officer at sovanta, sums up his impressions of the event in the following blogpost.

A Clean Core Journey: Insights and Lessons

A major highlight was hearing from thought leaders like Goodyear and Jabil as they shared their journeys toward a “Clean Core”. The shift to Clean Core practices is critical for organizations aiming to simplify customizations and accelerate innovation within their SAP landscapes. Their talk was a mix of inspiration and caution. They painted a clear picture of what success could look like while emphasizing common pitfalls to avoid.

AI Transparency: A Business Imperative

AI took center stage in many discussions, particularly the critical need for transparency. An eye-opening statistic revealed that 92% of companies consider transparency about where AI is used and the data it’s based on as essential when evaluating AI projects. This shows how organizations are becoming increasingly discerning about their AI investments, focusing on trust and accountability.

The session that truly stood out for me was “The Convergence of Business AI and Automation: Experience the Power of AI Agents” with Tommi Kramer and Benjamin Stöckhert. Their presentation provided a fascinating glimpse into what SAP is cooking up in their labs, particularly in the realm of AI agents. This session didn’t just showcase cutting-edge innovation – it inspired attendees to imagine how these technologies could transform their businesses.

The Power of SAP BTP: Learning from Leaders

One of the recurring themes throughout the event was the immense potential of SAP BTP to deliver tangible business value. Companies like Suncor, DOW Chemical, and CF Industries shared their success stories, showcasing how the platform has driven efficiency and innovation in their operations. However, it was evident from numerous conversations that many organizations are still in the early stages of exploring SAP BTP. The demand for best practices and clear guidance on how to start leveraging the platform remains high.

Reflections on ASUG Tech Connect

ASUG Tech Connect was a powerful reminder of how technology reshapes the business landscape. Events like this are invaluable for staying ahead in today’s fast-evolving world. Whether it’s mastering SAP BTP, embracing clean core practices, or exploring the future of AI, I look forward to continuing the journey of learning, connecting, and growing.
