sovanta BTP Squad in the U.S.
Our BTP Squad has been busy in the U.S. lately! We had the honor of being a sponsor at the SAP Platform and Data Summit – not just once, but twice: first in New York City and then again in Chicago. Both events were a great success and full of inspiring conversations. Time for a quick recap: Sven Arndt, CTO of sovanta America, shares his insights and answers the key questions – What were the driving topics? Who was on stage? And what are our takeaways?
Innovation in Action: Use Cases on Stage
Both events showcased plenty of real-life use cases from customers who demonstrated how SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Business Data Cloud (BDC) provide a solid foundation for innovation and faster adaptation to ever-changing business needs.
Across all the sessions, four clear takeaways stood out:
- A great use case starts with business value and the people driving the process.
 - Even with the best tools and technologies, success depends on having the right people to bring it all together.
 - Some teams missed out on innovation opportunities by implementing only the bare minimum – just as they would have done without the latest BTP or BDC capabilities. Remember: regardless of your core system version, on BTP/BDC you can instantly leverage the latest innovations!
 - Finally, strong collaboration between vendors and customers builds trust and opens the door for bigger achievements.

sovanta on Stage with Elanco and Endress+Hauser
We were proud to showcase two exciting customer stories at both summits:
- “Elanco’s BTP Journey with sovanta – What was, is, and can be“
 - “How Endress+Hauser streamlined Sales Call Prep: Less Time, Fewer Errors, More Wins with AI“

Both sessions were very well received and sparked great discussions with attendees. If you’d like to learn more about these projects, feel free to reach out to us!
Unsurprisingly, AI was one of the hottest topics at both events. The main takeaway: a solid data foundation is crucial for AI success – and you don’t necessarily need the newest systems to get started. We also had the chance to demonstrate our AI expertise at different SAP Agentic AI for Architects Workshops lately – hosted together with the SAP AppHaus.
Integration and Clean Core: Still Top of Mind
Beyond AI, many conversations also focused on Integration and Clean Core. Many customers are currently facing the challenge of transitioning from legacy systems like PI/PO, CPI on NEO, and Data Integration to next-generation solutions such as SAP Integration Suite and SAP Datasphere.
The main hurdles?
- A lack of hands-on experience with the new technologies, making it hard to evaluate whether they cover all required features.
 - Uncertainty about how to secure the necessary budget for the transformation.

The situation is similar when it comes to Clean Core. Many teams don’t know how to communicate or even approach the topic internally. Meanwhile, their management has picked up on it at events like SAP Sapphire and is now asking for reports on their “Clean Core status.” Expectations and reality often differ widely.
