Lidl & sovanta at the DSAG Congress: SAP Fiori for ESS/MSS
Everyone is talking about SAP Fiori: At the recent DSAG Annual Congress in Bremen, Michael Kern, COO of sovanta AG, together with Jackson Wunderlin, Head of Global HR Systems, Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, presented an exciting Fiori project to the SAP community:
Our customer was faced with a central HR challenge: how to reach all employees with digital self-services for attendance and absences, vacation requests, sickness notifications, and master data maintenance. Attempts had already been made to provide employees with on-site access to digital HR services via terminals at the individual locations. However, the terminals do not provide sufficient privacy and many processes are still paper-based. A central and mobile solution for all employees was needed: ESS/MSS scenarios for retail.
Use Case: ESS/MSS scenarios for retail
After taking stock of the situation, sovanta set about developing a digital self-service that would enable secure access even via private devices. Various SAP Fiori apps are to map the required self-services for the supermarket staff. For this purpose, we as UX experts rely on the SAP Fiori Launchpad as a central and intuitive entry point to the various Fiori-based offerings (Fiori Apps). To ideally map the various requirements of the user groups, role-based access to the various functions is implemented. Master data maintenance and the employee profile form the heart of the applications. Here, adjustments can be made by the employees themselves.
SAP Fiori Apps for everyone
The new digital channel now reaches all employees in the branches worldwide, making HR processes much faster via this digital channel instead of by mail, as was previously the case in some cases. In addition, self-service increases data quality and timeliness enormously. Paper processes are a thing of the past; employees maintain all information directly in the intuitive tool via their private end device. This also makes the HR department happy, because the administrative effort is reduced enormously at this point.
