HCM Squad at Zukunft Personal Europe

Diving into the HR community together with SAP? Our HCM Squad is always up for that. This year it finally happened: for the very first time, we joined Zukunft Personal Europe as an exhibitor – as part of the SAP booth. We felt right at home, had many exciting conversations, and were especially able to impress with our expertise in SAP SuccessFactors extensions on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Three days full of impressions are now behind us – time for a short recap.

What’s driving the HR community

In many conversations, we noticed one thing: uncertainty among customers is a major topic. The SAP roadmap offers plenty of new opportunities, but it also raises questions:

  • What happens after the end of maintenance for SAP ERP HCM?
  • Where will self-services find their home in the future?
  • What does the H4S4 upgrade mean for existing HCM on-premise systems?
  • And most importantly: What does a holistic architecture plan for the HR IT of the future look like?

Clear orientation and a strategic roadmap are urgently needed here.

Technological and strategic challenges

Our customers’ questions go far beyond technology alone. HR needs to reposition itself strategically and, through digitalization, make the shift from administrator to business enabler. Topics like process automation and artificial intelligence are crucial to unlocking efficiency potential. Often, it’s enough to connect the right building blocks – and tangible added value emerges.

HR IT of the future: efficiency, AI & process automation

Many customers wanted to know:

  • How can we meaningfully integrate new technologies like AI and process automation?
  • How can we create more efficiency in everyday HR work?
  • And what role does SAP BTP play alongside the powerful SuccessFactors Suite?

Our practical examples from ongoing projects often made the difference here and sparked many inspiring discussions. The key takeaway: customers now need concrete guidance on how to get started quickly and achieve results.

Our conclusion & outlook

The future of HR IT requires one thing above all: a clear plan. Together with our customers, we develop roadmaps for target architectures that define the next steps. Whether it’s about redesigning self-services, integrating them into the SAP Build Work Zone, or intelligently connecting hybrid scenarios between on-premise (H4S4) and cloud (SuccessFactors) – a strategic approach that bridges technology and business is essential.

Our first time at Zukunft Personal Europe showed us: the HR community is looking for guidance – and we’ve brought plenty of impulses to help shape the path forward together.
