BTP Specialist Becomes SAP Partner of the Year for Financial Services

As part of the SAP Diamond Initiative, sovanta received – in addition to the BTP Award – for the first time the title of SAP Partner of the Year in the “Financial Services” category. But how does a BTP specialist win an industry award? What does this mean for all other industries? And how do banks and insurance companies benefit from the sovanta offering? Michael Kern and Josefine Golf are sovanta’s experts for Financial Services and proudly accepted the award in Walldorf. In this blog post, they share insights into an exciting industry full of potential.

First of all, let’s be clear: sovanta is not the partner in the SAP ecosystem with 30 years of built-up expertise in banking and insurance. Instead, sovanta stands strongly for SAP BTP, SAP BDC, and AI. And these are precisely the topics banks and insurers need right now to meet market challenges. This means a specialist partner is needed – one who knows these topics inside out and fits perfectly into the existing partner landscape.

The status quo: Many customers are already working successfully with various specialized partners – and that’s a good thing. Our task as an SAP BTP specialist and end-to-end partner? To guide customers successfully through their transformation. The BTP serves as the strategic cornerstone for designing the data architecture according to the Clean Core approach and fully leveraging all the possibilities in the cloud.

Banks and insurers are now embarking on their cloud journey, starting with RISE. This is exactly where our BTP offerings come in. As an experienced SAP partner, we ensure that the transformation is successful and delivers genuine business innovation for our customers.

Is SAP BTP the answer for all industries?

Banks and insurers are not alone on the cloud journey. Other industries face similar questions – and in some cases, even identical challenges. For example, Financial Services share similarities with the retail sector in certain areas: with branches and sales agencies, banks and insurers have a retail-like setup. It’s no surprise, then, that similar processes are the focus of digitalization efforts. This way, each industry benefits from the others, and we bring our BTP experience from related industries into every new market – the classic “looking beyond the horizon” approach.

Where to start? With human-centered design and trust

In the Financial Services sector, we see many processes and tools that have evolved over time. Now, more than 15 years of accumulated systems need to be replaced – often involving critical processes. Our experience shows that transformation is only successful if you address existing requirements individually. As a long-standing member of the SAP AppHaus Network, the human-centered design approach is part of our DNA. That means our clients don’t just get standard market solutions. We first strive to understand their specific problems and then develop process-oriented solutions and extensions on SAP BTP – always close to the SAP standard. Our customers benefit from our expertise and from our ability to deliver even long-term projects.

If you don’t have a partner you can 100% trust for the transformation, it’s like changing tires while driving at full speed – it’s bound to fail.

Financial Services is just the beginning

Being named SAP Partner of the Year for Financial Services is a clear sign of the momentum in the SAP community. Banks and insurers need a BTP specialist – and they are not alone in that. Regardless of the industry, sovanta is the BTP specialist among SAP partners. That also means: we do things a little differently, bring fresh ideas, and address current topics around the buzzwords Cloud, Clean Core, and AI – always in perfect harmony with existing partners.

We are very proud and grateful for the recognition as SAP Partner for Financial Services. It is a strong acknowledgment of the energy and expertise we put into the Financial Services sector. We also see this award as a commitment: we have to keep going exactly like this!
